The core competence of Prof. Gerfers and the Chair MSC lies in the research and development of energy-efficient D-band mobile radio transceivers, high-resolution data converters (ADCs and DACs) with highest signal bandwidths ≥ 50 GHz, analog-to-information and signal processing hardware, ML accelerators as well as low-noise and low-jitter clock generation and multiplication up to D-band. In particular, features of 22nm CMOS (e.g. active body biasing) and BiCMOS SiGe technology will be exploited. Project goals in 6G-RIC are in particular the development of energy-efficient D-band components and demonstrators, whose field of application will be further developed into complex demonstrators by means of hybrid integration.
