Prof Magedanz is working since decades on the convergence of networking technologies and their programmability at the Fraunhofer Institutes FOKUS, where he is leading the Software-based Networks business unit. With regard to the Open RAN Evolution towards 6G he and his team are investigating in the 6GRIC project the RAN-CORE convergence and RIC implementation options.
