The third 6G-RIC Advisory Board Meeting & Workshop took place on the 10th and 11th of October at the Science-Tech Space @ Fraunhofer HHI.
Prof. Slawomir Stanczak, Coordinator of the 6G-RIC Research Hub, welcomed the crème de la crème of the international 5G and 6G scene with more than 150 participants on site and virtually from afar.
The theme of the interactive programme was "6G Technology Advancements: Highlights & Future Directions“.
Various presentations and panel discussions in plenary and parallel sessions were an integral part of the event. The content focused on Microelectronics & PHY-Layer Technologies, Network as a Sensor & Digital Twins, AI for Communication & Edge Intelligence and 6G RIC TECHNOLOGY ADVANCEMENTS.
Another highlight was the exhibition with 31st demos and a guided tour of our new 6G-RIC Integration Lab, where the latest research results of the 6G-RIC project were presented.
The workshop concluded with a special session entitled "6G TECHNOLOGIES: "FUTURE TOPICS", which focused on knowledge transfer and the sustainability of 6G-RIC as well as new 6G applications in healthcare.
We are grateful for the valuable contributions of our experts from industry and academia. This exchange provides the basis for a common understanding of current challenges and future research topics. To ensure the long-term exploitation of the research results, the 6G-RIC is planned to be established as a permanent centre of excellence. As an outstanding location for business and science, Berlin offers ideal conditions. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, 6G-based applications will be developed in close cooperation with industrial partners and other key players in order to bring about sustainable changes in society and further strengthen digital sovereignty for Germany and Europe.
