6G-RIC @ IEEE International Conference on Communication, Rome | May/June 2023

We are thrilled to announce a successful 6G-RIC booth-presentation combined with our demos during the IEEE International Conference on Communication from May 28 – June 01 in Rome.

The 6G-RIC (6G Research and Innovation Cluster) brings together 20 research institutions and universities from Germany around 6G Research, under the coordination of Prof. Slawomir Stanczak from the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI. The Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung funds the 6G-RIC project until 2025.

We presented the following talks:

Prof. Slawomir Stanczak gave impressive Insights on the 6G-RIC project at the conference stage regarding milestones and future technological outlooks on 6G.

“Characterization of the weak Pareto boundary of resource allocation problems in wireless networks – Implications to cell-less systems”
– Dr. Renato Luis Garrido Cavalcante

“UL-DL duality for cell-free networks under per-AP power and information constraints”
– Dr. Lorenzo Miretti

“Near-Optimal LOS and Orientation Aware Intelligent Reflecting Surface Placement”
– Dr. Ehsan Tohidi

A Technical Panel Session on Propagation Channels for 5G and Beyond with Leszek Raschkowski from the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI, Professor Chong Han from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Dr. Chris Anderson from United States Naval Academy, Taro Eichler from Rohde & Schwarz and Tarun Chawla from Remcom Inc. The panelists provided their insights into radio propagation channels for 5G and 6G.

Our Demos:

💡D-Band Mobile Downlink with Integrated Beamforming Transceiver

💡Direction-resolved Terahertz Channel Sounding in D-Band

💡Predictive QoS for Industrial Multiconnectivity

Thank you to our synergetic team that excelled at this year’s ICC 2023 “Accelerating the Digital Transformation through Smart Communications”.

Kudos to Prof. Slawomir Stanczak, Dr. Ehsan Tohidi, Dr. Renato Luis Garrido Cavalcante, Dr. Ramez Askar, Dr. Lorenzo MirettiElena Kempf-Loeck, Dr. Laurenz JohnMathis SchmiederLeszek Raschkowski, Dr. Michael Peter & Matthias Mehlhose.
