Our 6G-RIC team is touring Brazil and connecting with other ICT experts! | December 2022

Prof. Slawomir Stanczak, Dr. Renato Luis Garrido Cavalcante and Elena Kempf-Loeck started in São Paulo, where they received invitations from IPT – Institute for Technological Research, CPQD as well as Institut de Pesquisas Eldorado.

Obrigado Maria Cristina Machado DominguesAlberto Paradisi, PhDRafael Navarro FigueiredoNorberto Alves FerreiraJose Eduardo Bertuzzo and everyone else who gave us glimpses into their current topics, research methods & labs!

We left Sao Paulo with plans to set up an exchange program for PhD and Master students as well as to explore opportunities for collaboration in the field of 5G & 6G. During the IEEE Globecom in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from December 4-8, the 6G-RIC-Team Members presented their latest research contributions. A highlight was die Industry Panel moderated by 6G-RIC Coordinator Prof. Stanczak with international esteemed panelists:

The Focus of the Panel discussion was „A perspective on Sub-THz communication and sensing”.

We are glad to announce the 6G-RIC Research presentations by:

  • Dr. Johannes Dommel „An energy-efficient and robust transmission scheme for IoT-based physiological activity monitoring“
  • Dr. Lorenzo Miretti “Joint optimal beamforming and power control in cell-free massive MIMO”
  • Dr. Ramez Askar “Self-interference channel measurements utilizing mmWave phased arrays for Full-Duplex IAB scenario”
  • Baris Göktepe “A hybrid harq feedback prediction approach for single- and cloud-RANs in the Sub-THz regime”

To conclude, the 6G-RIC exhibition booth was an important pivot to globally connect with the research community, introduce the 6G-RIC to stakeholder and to promote 6G-RIC position paper
